Step back in time and hold your next function in a turn-of-the-century barn! This landmark is situated in the community of Shawnessy in a 17-acre green space that includes a playpark, tennis courts, and ball diamonds. We have everything you need to plan your wedding, company BBQ, your community event, or Christmas Party.

 

This rustic barn was built in the early 1900s and refurbished in the late '70s as a community centre. The Shawnessy Barn is the last standing barn within the city limits of Calgary that is still usable. Its cedar walls surround the most beautiful fireplace, which roars its warmth in the winter and lends to a quiet comfort in the summer.

 

The huge sliding glass doors open onto the outdoor patio and the green space provides the indoor/outdoor experience. The ambiance is already there...all you need is your friends!

The seating capacity is 115 people.

 

Barn Rental May 1 - Sept 30th, $1800.00

Oct 1 - April 30th $1600 .00

Booking/Security deposit $1000.00

$9.00 per person fee for cash bar (minimum fee $450.00)

$10.50 per person fee for host bar (minimum fee $525.00)

Renters supply all alcohol, we supply all other items including mixes, ice, cups, juice, pop, garnish and Bar-tender 8 hours (mandatory)

There can be no food preparation in our kitchen due to the lack of a commercial kitchen, but your caterer can use the kitchen to heat and serve from. We do not require you to hire a caterer, you can provide your own food or do a potluck if you wish.
